Electric Circus

Wow! Clashing prints and kaleidoscopic patterns serve as the inspiration for Chris Nicholl’s latest work featured in the April edition of Flare. Models Wei and DJ don a colorful wardrobe of spring looks from labels such as Jil Sander, Alexander McQueen and Stella McCartney styled by Elizabeth Cabral. Ombre hair and flawless makeup by beauty artist Veronica Chu bring a neon edge to the flamboyant ensembles. This is what I call freshness!

“After some time, with my eyes closed, I began to enjoy this wonderful play of colors and forms, which it really was a pleasure to observe. Then I went to sleep and the next day I was fine. I felt quite fresh, like a newborn.” Alberto Hofman

These are some snapshots taken from my wonderful London room! For those of you are new to my life I am currently living in Bayswater London, very close to Lancaster Gate tube Station and Hyde Park. A very good location! I am here in London for the next 6 months working for the consultancy firm IMS Health. Then I will go to Tokyo on exchange in the fall and complete my final spring semester in Bath! And after that, as scary as it may sound, I will have a degree and not a clue what to do with it! Oh well. I’m sure I will figure it out! Now, back to the room! I love shoes, shoes, shoes and flowers!

Hope you like it!

Duality. Mental make-up. The shadow we visit in the mirror when we forget who we are.

Some days the sky is so blue you can taste it; others the air can press on your chest so hard you cannot breathe…

One day is a success. The next, a failure.

Human nature.

This is a private showing of artboy68 one and a half. This dual image unnerves me; combined from two separate photographs, the me under that face is actually smiling.

Can anyone relate?

cheers,

artboy68

Spanish artist Yago Hortal has an incredible style as a painter. He drips, smears, and splashes layers of acrylic paint onto canvas to create these abstract expressionistic arwork. I guess, these explosions of color are probably even more fun to make than they are to look at. Hortal’s work seems like a great balance of cerebral, emotional and physical discharge, what more could an artist want to be fulfilled?
